Short sightedness, what is it?

People who are short sighted are unable to clearly see in the distance but are alright for near vision. If very short sighted then the point of focus for near vision is too close to the face and so glasses may be needed for reading as well. Because the eye is too long for the focus point on the retina, glasses with a lens to bend the light outwards (concave) are needed
